The CIPR Communications Website Design Process

Our client onboarding process starts off with a questionnaire that is all about you! How do you like to communicate, what is your personality type, how involved do you want to be, what is your favorite day-time beverage – we want to get to know you, your style and your preferences so that we can tailor ourselves to you for the ultimate client experience. During this part of the process, we also work with you to gain access to all of the digital assets we will need to get the project done.   


After we have gotten to know you, we go deep into understanding your company, your clients, and your goals. You will meet with our leadership team to go through a comprehensive website design questionnaire and we facilitate a strategic conversation to uncover everything that is important to you and your business. 


From there, we organize the project internally and invite you to join our ASANA project management tool so that you can keep track of tasks and progress in real time – when you are part of our project in ASANA, you will always know where we are in the project, you will be able to comment and be part of internally conversations. 


The next phase of the project involved us building a site map and conversion architecture and we kick off the content drafting and message alignment process. Once the draft site map is completed, we present it to you for feedback and approval. Content can take longer to complete, so you will receive progress reports from us weekly. During this phase, we also start gathering or creating the digital assets that will be needed to complete the website design project, including photos, videos, and design elements. 


Now the real fun part begins – the mockup stage! This is when you get a first glimpse of your website vision coming to life. We first deliver a PDF mockup of your homepage so that you can get a feel for what the site will look like. During this stage, we work with you until you are fully satisfied with the look and feel of your company’s new “online home”. After you have signed off on your homepage mockup, we produce a mockup on your interior page or pages and go through a similar process of review, adjustment, and approval once you are happy. 


At this stage, we go into development, so you will hear from us less as we bring your website vision to life. During this stage, you will get a clear timeline from us about when this part of the project will be complete and you will hear from us at least weekly to get progress updates and to discuss any assets or information we may need to get the project done. You will of course be able to track every single task and timelines in ASANA if you want to keep track more closely. 


Once development is completed, we provide you with a staging link so that we can review the website together in detail before it goes live. During the staging link stage, we work with you on two major rounds of edits so that the site is perfect before it goes live. During this part of the process, we are also engaged internally on extensive quality testing to make sure everything is working as it should and we also do our own internal editing to make sure nothing is missed. Once everything has been tested and final edits have been implemented, its time to get your final approval and go live! 


Your new website goes live now and once it has; we go through another quality audit that can take up to 72 hours. During this phase of the project, we go through every page, every link, and every button in detail to ensure that everything is working as it should. We then review the entire site with you once more to make sure you are 100% satisfied. Once you are completely happy, we get you to sign off on the project and our 30-day support and warrantee period begins.
